Councillor Paul Scriven visits the market display

Yet another red letter day for the group display with the visit of Council leader Paul Scriven. Mr Scriven showed a genuine interest not only in the pictures, but in the  members also and had plenty of questions for us to answer with regard to the history of the group, how the display had been conceived and also how we intend to take the group forward. He has asked us to contact him with any ideas we have for future venues.

He spent quite a bit of time chatting and joking with the group in what proved to be a very informal and friendly visit.

A likeable politician! What is the world coming to?

He also expressed an interest in the groups Portland works petition and was given what has become known to us as " the speech" from one of the petition's organisers Lilian Hatch.

Mr Scriven then signed both the Portland petition and the group comments book.
